High-Security & Restricted-Key Locks in Vancouver

Pick- and drill-resistant cylinders paired with patent-protected keys that no one can copy without your written say-so — supplied and installed by a licensed Vancouver locksmith. We fit high-security hardware and set up key control for offices, retail and multi-tenant buildings right across Greater Vancouver, so you decide exactly who holds a working key.

What it is

What makes a lock “high-security”

A standard cylinder can be picked, bumped or drilled in minutes, and its keys can be copied at any hardware counter. A high-security cylinder is built to resist all three: hardened steel pins and anti-drill inserts defeat the drill, tight tolerances and sidebars stop picking and bumping, and the keyway is patented so blanks simply aren’t sold on the open market. The lock and the key are one controlled system rather than two commodity parts.

The other half is key control. Restricted keys are cut only against a signed authorisation list held on file, so a departing employee or a curious tenant can’t quietly walk into a shop and duplicate one. We match the right cylinder grade to each opening — a glass storefront door has different needs than a stockroom or a strata electrical room — and register your keyway so every future key is traceable back to who approved it.

What’s included

What a high-security install covers

  • Pick- & drill-resistant cylinders. Hardened pins, anti-drill inserts and sidebar mechanisms rated to resist forced and covert entry.
  • Patent-protected keys. Blanks that aren’t sold retail, so no locksmith or kiosk can duplicate them without your keyway.
  • Written key-control list. Every cut key is logged against a signed authorisation card — no copies happen without your approval.
  • Registered keyway. Your profile is filed to your business, so future keys are traceable and can’t be cross-cut to another site.
  • Retrofit into existing doors. Most storefront, mortise and deadbolt hardware takes a high-security cylinder without swapping the whole lock.
  • Authorised extra keys. Additional keys cut on request — but only for the people on your control list, on demand.
How it works

From assessment to controlled keys

01

Assess doors & risk

We check each opening, your existing hardware and who needs access — then recommend a cylinder grade and keyway that fit.

02

Register & price

You approve a fixed, itemised quote and sign the key-control authorisation before any cylinder or key is cut.

03

Install & issue keys

We fit the cylinders on-site, cut and label your authorised keys, and file the control record for future requests.

Why it matters

Stop the key you can’t account for

Most break-ins on commercial sites aren’t forced — someone simply used a copied key. Restricted, patent-protected keys close that gap: a cylinder that shrugs off a pick or drill is only as strong as the number of keys floating around, so we lock down who can ever cut one. When a key does go missing, you rekey a single opening instead of the whole building, and no one can quietly make a spare in the meantime. Non-destructive work first, fixed pricing agreed up front, and no after-hours markup.
