Commercial Rekeying & Maintenance in Vancouver
When a key walks out the door with a departing employee, you don’t need new locks — you need the ones you have to stop answering to the old key. We rekey business hardware, keep your cylinders running with scheduled maintenance, and hold a documented key record so you always know who can open what. Fully mobile across Greater Vancouver, licensed and insured, with fixed pricing agreed before any work.
Rekeying versus replacing
Rekeying re-pins the cylinder you already own so the old key no longer turns it and a fresh key does. The lock body, the handle and the door stay exactly as they are — only the pin stack inside changes. That means after staff turnover, a lost key, a break-in scare or the end of a tenancy, you can retire every key in circulation for a fraction of the cost of new hardware, usually in a single visit. If a cylinder is worn past the point of safe re-pinning we’ll tell you and quote the swap first; most of the time re-pinning is the right call.
Maintenance is the quieter half of the job. Commercial doors get used hundreds of times a day, and a sticky cylinder, a dragging latch or a mis-aligned strike is the thing that fails at 8am on a Monday. We service the locks on a schedule you set, keep a written record of every keyway and pin combination in the building, and run it as a trade account — priority scheduling and one monthly invoice instead of a call-out every time something binds.
What a rekey & maintenance job covers
- Turnover rekeys. Re-pin any cylinder after a staff change or a lost key so old keys die the same day.
- Keyed-alike sets. Bring several doors onto one key, or split them apart, to match how the space is actually used.
- Scheduled servicing. Planned visits to clean, lubricate and adjust cylinders, latches and strikes before they seize.
- Documented key record. A written log of every keyway, pin combination and issued key — yours to keep and audit.
- Trade accounts. Priority scheduling and one consolidated invoice for property managers and multi-site operators.
- Extra cut keys. Additional or replacement keys cut on demand as people and roles change.
From call to keys that answer only to you

Re-pin & log
We re-pin on-site, cut and label new keys, kill the old ones, and update your written key record.
Every old key becomes a dead key
The risk after turnover isn’t the lock — it’s the key you never got back. A rekey closes that gap in an afternoon without the cost or downtime of replacing hardware, and a maintained cylinder simply doesn’t give up on you mid-shift. We work non-destructively wherever we can, quote before we start, and never add an after-hours markup, so an emergency rekey at 2am costs what we agreed — not a surprise. With a documented key record behind it, you always know exactly who can open which door.
