The banks in a condo lobby are usually the building's, not Canada Post's. That means the strata, the property manager or the unit owner authorizes the change. Once they do, it is an ordinary locksmith job.

Can a locksmith change my Canada Post community mailbox lock?
No. That cabinet and its locks are Canada Post property, and only Canada Post can change them. If the key is lost, Canada Post issues new keys.
I lost my condo mailbox key, do I need the strata's permission?
Usually yes, because the bank is common property even though the box is assigned to you. In practice a short email to the property manager is enough. Ask before booking so the visit is not wasted.
Can you open a mailbox when the only key is gone?
Yes. Mailbox cam locks are low-security by design and open without damage in most cases. Where a lock has to be drilled, it is a small, inexpensive part being replaced anyway, and you hear that before it happens.
Do you replace mailbox locks for a whole apartment building?
Yes, and it is a better job done as one. Whole-bank replacements are quoted per door, with the number falling as the count rises, and keyed however the building wants. Strata quotes come in writing, ready for council.
Opening a mailbox lock without wrecking the little door.
Mailbox doors are thin aluminum with a painted finish and no give in them. Prying one open marks it permanently, and a bent door will not close square again no matter what lock goes in afterwards.
So the cam lock gets picked or the core gets pulled with the proper tool, and the door stays flat. The part that is expensive to replace is the part we work around.
