Mailbox & Cabinet Lock Service in Vancouver

Locked out of your mail, lost the little key to a filing cabinet, or facing a whole community mailbox bank that won’t open? We open, rekey and replace the small locks most locksmiths treat as an afterthought — mailboxes, mailbox-cluster units, cabinets, desks and furniture — anywhere across Greater Vancouver, on a fully mobile van and open 24/7.

What it is

Small locks, done properly

Mailbox and cabinet locks are almost all cam locks — a small barrel with a flat metal arm that swings behind the door to hold it shut. They sit on individual house and apartment mailboxes, on the big community mailbox clusters shared by a strata or a street, and on filing cabinets, desks, tool chests, lockers and furniture. When a key is lost, snaps off, or a tenant moves out without returning it, the fix is the same family of work: pop it open without wrecking the box, then either rekey the existing cam lock or swap in a fresh keyed one.

Because these locks are cheap and easy to force, we do them the right way instead of the fast way. We open non-destructively first — picking or bypassing the cam so the door, hinge and surrounding boxes stay intact — and only drill as a last resort, which we quote before we ever touch a bit. For a strata or landlord we can rekey or replace a full bank of mailbox locks in one visit and hand back a clean, labelled set of keys, so you know exactly which key belongs to which unit.

What’s included

What a mailbox & cabinet job covers

  • Non-destructive opening. Picked or bypassed cam locks on mailboxes, clusters, cabinets and desks — no forced door where we can avoid it.
  • Lost-key rekeys. The existing cam lock re-pinned to a brand-new key, so an old lost key no longer works.
  • New keyed cam locks. Fresh cam locks fitted where the barrel is seized, damaged or missing — sized to your door thickness and cam length.
  • Mailbox-cluster banks. Community and strata mailbox units rekeyed or replaced across the whole bank in a single visit.
  • Cabinet & furniture locks. Filing cabinets, desks, lockers, tool chests and display cases opened, rekeyed or re-locked.
  • Labelled key sets. Extra cut keys and a clearly labelled set for landlords and stratas, so every unit is tracked.
How it works

From locked box to working key

01

Tell us what won’t open

Mailbox, cluster, cabinet or filing lock — a quick photo of the lock face helps us bring the right cam and pins.

02

Open & price it upfront

We pick or bypass the lock first and agree a fixed price before any work — drilling is only ever a last resort we quote first.

03

Rekey, replace & hand over

We re-pin or fit a new keyed cam, test it, cut your spares and label the set so you know which key opens what.

Why it matters

A small key that shouldn’t cost you a new mailbox

A lost mailbox key or a jammed cabinet doesn’t need a torn-off door or a replaced box — done right, it needs the correct cam, the correct pinning and a steady hand. Because we open non-destructively first, your mailbox bank keeps its finish and your filing cabinet keeps its drawer front, and a lost or handed-back key stops working the moment we rekey. Every price is fixed and agreed before we start, with no call-out surprises and no after-hours markup, day or night.
