Why is my smart lock not locking all the way?
Usually the strike, not the motor. Lock it from the app or keypad with the door open. If the bolt throws fully then but stalls with the door shut, the strike needs adjusting.
Why does my keypad light up but not respond?
Often low batteries: the backlight runs when the reader or motor cannot. Fit fresh batteries of the type the maker specifies. If it still ignores you, it needs checking.
Can a smart lock motor be replaced on its own?
Sometimes. On many smart deadbolts the motor sits in the inside unit, which some makers sell on its own. If yours only comes as a whole lock, you hear that before any work begins.
Why does my smart lock go through batteries so fast?
Drag is the usual cause, and the wrong cell type is next. Built-in Wi-Fi uses more power than Bluetooth, and a weak hub signal adds to it. We check all three.
Should I take the batteries out of a smart lock that keeps beeping?
Only from inside, with a key or another way back in. Constant beeping is usually a low-battery or jam alert. Fit fresh batteries, check the bolt runs freely, and call if it returns.
